In a landmark move to strengthen support for People of Determination, the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, chaired by His Highness Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has approved the establishment of the Board of Trustees for the Zayed Authority for People of Determination. The board itself will be chaired by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The newly formed Board of Trustees comprises senior officials from key sectors, including the Chairman of the Department of Community Development as Vice Chair, Chairmen of the Departments of Education and Knowledge, Health, the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Early Childhood Authority, the Undersecretary of the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Secretary General of Abu Dhabi Sports Council, and the Director General of the Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training.

Tasked with shaping strategic initiatives, the board will submit recommendations, propose policies, and provide guidance on programs and projects designed for People of Determination across Abu Dhabi. The Zayed Authority, which succeeds the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination and operates under the Department of Community Development, will deliver specialised social care services while advancing an inclusive ecosystem across the emirate.
Officials highlighted that this initiative reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to inclusivity and social development. “The formation of the Board of Trustees will ensure that our programs for People of Determination are strategic, impactful, and sustainable,” said a senior spokesperson from the Department of Community Development.
With this step, Abu Dhabi strengthens its framework for empowering People of Determination, aligning with national priorities for social inclusion and high-quality care services.
