Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, Abu Dhabi will host the CISM International Symposium 2025 from 20 to 22 October. The biennial event, organised by the International Military Sports Council (CISM), aims to explore “Physical Readiness and Resilience in the Armed Forces: Challenges and Future Foresight.”
The symposium will bring together leading military experts, academics, and international researchers to discuss the latest advancements in physical readiness, military training, and resilience. First held in 1948, the CISM symposium is the Council’s second-largest event after the World Military Games, rotating every two years among member states.

His Excellency Brigadier General Obaid Ali Al-Mansouri, Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee, confirmed that final arrangements are underway under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan. “The symposium reflects the UAE’s commitment to promoting peace globally and highlights sport as a platform for dialogue, understanding, and shared values,” he said.
Selected during CISM’s General Assembly in Moscow in 2023, the UAE’s hosting underscores the country’s international standing and proven capability to organise major global events. The symposium will serve as a strategic platform for sharing expertise, strengthening international military cooperation, and promoting the development of armed forces to meet future challenges while advancing sporting values that foster global peace.
