Early Tuesday morning, Kundasang in Sabah was rattled by a mild 3.4-magnitude earthquake, generating slight tremors across the vicinity. According to the Malaysian Meteorological Department, the quake hit at approximately 3:02 am.
The epicenter was located about 8 kilometers northwest of Ranau, at a depth of 10 kilometers. Although residents in nearby areas felt the tremors, authorities noted they were weak.
So far, there have been no reports of injuries or property damage. Teams monitoring the situation in both Kundasang and Ranau confirmed that everything remains stable.
Local fire and rescue officials, represented by Rantey Fred, reported no emergency calls following the earthquake. Nevertheless, authorities are maintaining vigilance as a precaution.
