Pakistan has dispatched thousands of troops, fighter jets, and state-of-the-art air defense systems to Saudi Arabia under a covert defense pact between the nations. This maneuver comes at a time of increased tensions in the Middle East stemming from the ongoing conflicts involving Iran.

As per various security and governmental reports, approximately 8,000 military experts have been sent, accompanied by around 16 aircraft, predominantly JF-17 fighter jets developed in collaboration with China. Additional reports indicated the inclusion of two squadrons of drones and a Chinese-sourced HQ-9 air defense system in the mission.

The military assets are reportedly managed by Pakistani teams, with Saudi Arabia covering the operational costs. Insiders stated that this deployment is designed as a combat-ready force to assist Saudi Arabia in the event of further aggressions.

Sources add that while the recent troop movements primarily consist of advisory and training duties amid the ongoing strife, Pakistan has established military presence in Saudi Arabia through earlier agreements. This latest deployment significantly enhances that existing presence, given the escalating regional tensions.

The secret defense agreement reportedly stipulates the potential dispatch of up to 80,000 Pakistani troops if deemed necessary. Moreover, some officials asserted that this pact may permit the deployment of Pakistani naval vessels, although this remains unverified independently.

This development occurs during a delicate period, as Pakistan also plays a crucial role as a mediator in the conflict involving Iran. Previously, Islamabad has hosted discussions between the U.S. and Iran, playing a pivotal role in securing a temporary ceasefire in the area.

The reports have attracted global attention due to the scale of military deployment and Pakistan's dual capacity as a mediator and military ally to Saudi Arabia. As of publication, neither Pakistan nor Saudi Arabia has officially addressed the recent reports.
