On April 5, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh welcomed Chinese Ambassador He Wei in Hanoi to discuss ways to strengthen the relationship between Vietnam and China. The meeting was held at the Government headquarters, with an emphasis on boosting collaboration across various sectors.
Both leaders underscored the significant advancements in Vietnam-China relations, which include heightened political trust, increased trade, and robust exchanges between citizens. The diplomats also conveyed greetings from their respective top officials, signaling ongoing high-level diplomatic efforts.
During the discussions, Prime Minister Chinh stressed the necessity of cultivating amicable relations and advocated for equitable and sustainable trade growth. He proposed expanding cooperation in infrastructure, especially around rail connectivity, while also pushing for stronger ties in energy, finance, tourism, and cultural exchanges.
Ambassador He Wei praised Vietnam’s developmental progress and reiterated China’s commitment to enhancing collaboration. Both parties agreed to reinforce their comprehensive strategic partnership and pursue mutual growth in the years ahead.
