Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with Fredrik Florén to discuss strengthening cooperation between Dubai and Sweden in culture, education, innovation, music, design, and the creative economy.
During the meeting, Sheikha Latifa highlighted the strong and growing relationship between the UAE and Sweden. She praised Sweden’s support for cultural and creative industries and said both countries share a common vision to support the growth of the creative economy and encourage innovation through culture.
Sheikha Latifa said the UAE believes culture plays an important role in strengthening dialogue and building meaningful connections between people and communities. She added that cooperation between the UAE and Sweden reflects a shared commitment to supporting creative sectors as spaces that encourage innovation, knowledge exchange, and new ideas.
She also noted that Dubai continues to strengthen its cultural ecosystem through international partnerships that create opportunities for artists and creatives, encourage collaboration across different sectors, and support sustainable creative industries for the future.
Sheikha Latifa said Dubai’s cultural development is guided by the vision of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under which the emirate has become a global hub for culture and creativity by investing in talent, innovation, and cultural exchange.
The meeting was attended by Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Maryam bint Ahmed Al Hammadi, Saeed Al Eter, along with several officials.
For his part, Ambassador Fredrik Florén praised the strong ties between the UAE and Sweden and stressed the importance of continued cultural dialogue and cooperation in promoting creativity and innovation.
He also praised Dubai’s rapidly developing cultural landscape and its role in supporting creativity, attracting global talent, and strengthening the emirate’s position as an international cultural destination.
