Dubai, UAE – Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has celebrated its strategic partners in a special ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, recognising their instrumental role in advancing Dubai’s global standing in energy, sustainability, and innovation.
The event was led by HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA, who honoured key leaders from across Dubai’s major entities and the private sector for their continued collaboration and contributions to the city’s progress. Among those recognised were HE Mona Al Marri, Director General of the Government of Dubai Media Office; HE Marwan Bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality; HE Dr. Alawi Alsheikh-Ali, Director General of the Dubai Health Authority; HE Matar AlHemeiri, CEO of Digital Dubai Government Establishment; and Mohamed Jameel Al Ramahi, CEO of Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company (Masdar), among others.
Also honoured were several government and corporate partners including the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, Dubai Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Police, ENOC, Emirates NBD, Microsoft, SAP MENA, ACWA Power, and the UAE University. Each has played a key role in supporting DEWA’s drive toward innovation and sustainability across Dubai.
During the ceremony, Al Tayer highlighted how such partnerships have helped Dubai become a global model in efficient energy management and sustainable development. DEWA’s strong performance indicators, including a record-low electricity customer minutes lost (CML) of just 0.94 minutes and water network losses reduced to 4.5%, stand as proof of this collaborative success.
He also shared milestones achieved through DEWA’s independent power producer (IPP) model, marking a decade since the first project at the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park — now the largest single-site solar park in the world. The park’s capacity is set to surpass 8,000MW by 2030, significantly contributing to Dubai’s clean energy targets.
DEWA’s focus on stakeholder happiness was also underlined, with its partner satisfaction rating reaching 95.15% in 2024, reflecting the strength and trust of these collaborations.
The recognition event served as a reminder of Dubai’s united efforts across sectors to build a cleaner, smarter, and more resilient future — powered by innovation, shared vision, and partnership.
