Abu Dhabi is calling on government bodies, private companies, and nonprofit organisations to step up their efforts in creating a more inclusive community with the extension of the Abu Dhabi Excellence Award for the Inclusion of People of Determination, also known as the Damj Award. The submission deadline has now been extended to 31 October 2025, giving organisations extra time to showcase their pioneering initiatives.
The Damj Award serves as a strategic platform to encourage entities to implement inclusive practices, while also recognising and rewarding organisations that demonstrate leadership in integrating People of Determination into all aspects of society. This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi’s Strategy for People of Determination and the broader objectives of the Year of Community 2025. It offers organisations a structured way to evaluate their current efforts, identify challenges, and develop innovative solutions that improve the quality of life for every member of the community.
Participation in the Damj Award is structured and transparent. Interested organisations can submit their applications via the official website, damj.gov.ae, which requires setting up an account, completing the nomination form, and uploading supporting documents. Only once both the nomination and participation forms are accepted will the application be considered complete. Entities receive an acceptance notification and must finalize their submission within three working days.
The extended deadline reflects a push for broader engagement, allowing entities more time to prepare comprehensive applications that truly reflect their commitment to inclusion. Through this initiative, Abu Dhabi aims to set a benchmark for inclusive practices at a global level, encouraging collaboration between public, private, and third-sector organisations, while fostering a society that values and empowers People of Determination.
