Calidus Holding Group, a prominent defence and manufacturing entity in the UAE, has introduced an innovative counter-drone system known as DAMITA. This pioneering technology is engineered to identify, track, and neutralize both AI-driven and swarm drones, ensuring robust security for urban areas, borders, military installations, and vital infrastructure.
Entirely developed in the UAE, DAMITA incorporates various autonomous defence features into a unified AI-driven solution. It merges detection, command and control, and drone neutralization technologies for rapid and effective responses to evolving drone threats. The heart of the system is an AI command and control (C2) software that guarantees synchronized operations and precise reactions.
Dr. Khalifa Murad Alblooshi, CEO of Calidus Holding Group, emphasized, "With DAMITA, we are not merely launching a system; we are demonstrating our skill as a full system integrator. By amalgamating detection, AI-driven command, and various action methods into one platform, we are delivering a dependable defence solution entirely made in the UAE."
The DAMITA system counters today’s sophisticated drone threats, characterized by AI-enabled drones with autonomous navigation and precision targeting, functioning effectively even in jammed environments. It is prepared to handle single-target and mass swarm assaults, positioning it as a vital asset for contemporary security and defense efforts.
The system integrates radar, full-spectrum RF scanners, and EO/IR sensors, backed by AI algorithms that facilitate accurate detection and allow differentiation between drones and birds. Upon identifying a threat, it can employ electronic jamming, high-energy lasers, or advanced air-burst interceptors for neutralization. It provides both hard and soft kill alternatives, effectively neutralizing threats while minimizing urban damage.
DAMITA’s sophisticated capabilities enable it to intercept up to 20 drones per minute and deploy a battery-powered laser for prompt responses. Moreover, its On-the-Move (OTM) feature allows for ongoing detection and engagement while in transit. Such functionality ensures that DAMITA remains effective in both static and dynamic settings, safeguarding delicate locales.
By fusing innovation, autonomy, and adaptable solutions, DAMITA marks a notable advancement in drone defense technology. It empowers security forces to address the escalating threat from AI-integrated drones and swarm configurations decisively. Its versatility, speed, and accuracy make it fitting for various security responsibilities, ranging from urban protection to safeguarding critical military resources.
The introduction of DAMITA bolsters the UAE’s stature in advanced defense technology and underscores Calidus Holding Group’s pledge to crafting state-of-the-art, locally produced solutions. This system is poised to play a critical role in forthcoming security initiatives, ensuring the safety of citizens, key infrastructure, and national interests against rising aerial dangers.
