The Arab Federation for Digital Economy recently participated in significant international gatherings in Geneva, which included the Global Forum for Digital Governance Solutions “GovTech Deep-Dive” and the “Trust Valley Day 2025”. Leading the delegation was Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, the Federation’s Board of Directors head. These forums covered the latest advancements in digital transformation, GovTech initiatives, service enhancement, transparency, and preparing for future technologies.
Organised by the World Bank and featuring government and technology experts, the sessions underscored the importance of forging robust partnerships between public and private sectors. Such collaborations are vital for advancing projects in artificial intelligence, government data efficiency, digital security, and institutional growth. Additionally, the Federation participated in the Trust Valley Day 2025, which concentrated on cybersecurity and digital trust, showcasing innovative cyber solutions from the “Tech4Trust” programme embraced by European startups.
Moreover, the Federation attended the GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025 awards ceremony, where the World Bank and Swiss officials acknowledged outstanding projects in digital governance. In bilateral discussions, the Federation conversed with the World Bank regarding collaboration on the Arab Digital Economy Index and the Arab Digital Transformation Projects Platform. The Bank commended the UAE’s leadership in digital advancement, boasting a robust technological structure and a forward-thinking innovation plan.
Dr. Al-Khouri articulated that the partnership with the World Bank would refine the Arab Digital Transformation Index, enhancing its effectiveness in tracking progress among Arab nations. Additional dialogues were held on expanding the digital projects platform created alongside UNDP and ESCWA, which aims at establishing a cohesive Arab framework for categorising digital projects, elevating the Arab digital economy, and improving access to international funding.
He emphasized that participating in these global events enables Arab nations to glean insights from leading international practices, fostering robust digital ecosystems for the future. The Federation is committed to collaborating with global entities to support Arab digital strategies and enhance regional integration in the digital landscape.
