The curtain has come down on one of the UAE’s most exciting sports events — the Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup, which was hosted over two action-packed days at Shabab Al Ahli Club in Dubai. The championship brought together clubs and academies from across the country, all competing with passion, discipline, and determination.
On the second and final day, the spotlight was on the final matches for four main categories: Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, and Adults. The atmosphere was electric as young fighters and adult athletes stepped onto the mats, each aiming to claim the title for their club.
The Winners of the Championship
At the end of the contests, four clubs stood tall as champions in their respective categories:
* Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club proudly claimed the Under-14 title.
* Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club secured the Under-16 crown, proving their strength among teenage athletes.
* Al Jazira Jiu-Jitsu Club battled hard to win the Under-18 division, showcasing young talent ready for bigger stages.
* Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club lifted the Adults title, marking a proud achievement for the senior fighters.

Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, congratulated all the winners and expressed his gratitude to Shabab Al Ahli Club for hosting the event. He emphasized that local clubs and academies are the foundation of the sport’s success.
He explained that this Cup is not only an important part of the UAE’s sports calendar but also plays a key role in developing young fighters and spotting future champions.

Zayed Al Kaabi, Head Coach of Al Ain Jiu-Jitsu Club, praised his athletes’ efforts after winning the Under-16 title and finishing second in two other categories. He said the team will continue to push for more victories and strengthen its position in UAE jiu-jitsu.
Ribamar Santiago, Head Coach of Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club, said the club’s win in the Adults category came from teamwork, daily hard training, and the determination of players. He credited the coaches, staff, and management for supporting the athletes on their journey to victory.
From the athletes’ side, Sultan Mohamed Al Kaabi of Baniyas described the win as a “joy beyond words,” adding that their months of preparation paid off despite facing strong opponents. Similarly, Harib Al Hammadi of Al Jazira, who played a key role in the Under-18 title win, said the victory was proof that their dedication and training had worked, and it motivates them to aim higher in future tournaments.
