Colombian superstar Shakira has revealed a teaser of her new song “Dai Dai,” which will serve as the official anthem for the FIFA World Cup 2026.
The short video was shared from Brazil’s famous Maracanã Stadium, where Shakira is seen performing on the field with dancers. The preview shows her singing in English: “Here in this place / You belong… What broke you once / Made you strong,” with a male voice joining her in harmony.
According to her social media post, the full song will be released on May 14. The track also features Afrobeats artist Burna Boy, adding an international collaboration to the official anthem.
The FIFA World Cup 2026 will begin on June 11, with Mexico facing South Africa at the Azteca Stadium in Mexico City. The final match will be held on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, near New York City.
Shakira is no stranger to World Cup music. She previously delivered the global hit “Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)” for the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
“Dai Dai” is separate from another official campaign song by Coca-Cola for the tournament, which is a rework of Van Halen’s “Jump.” That version includes artists J Balvin, Travis Barker, Amber Mark, and Steve Vai.
The Coca-Cola track also features new Spanish lyrics by J Balvin, blending Latin and Brazilian-inspired sounds to match the global football celebration.
With “Dai Dai,” Shakira once again returns to the World Cup stage, continuing her long association with football’s biggest event.
