Experience Abu Dhabi will launch a special poetry activation at Zayed National Museum on Thursday, 28 May. The initiative will be offered in both Arabic and English, creating a unique cultural experience for visitors.
The activation invites guests to take part in intimate one-to-one conversations with poets. Based on these personal reflections, poets will create original poems inspired by the city, its people, and their stories. The experience aims to turn individual memories and thoughts into meaningful poetic expressions.
The programme is open to everyone, including UAE nationals, residents, and tourists. It highlights that every story and perspective holds value and can be transformed into poetry.
The initiative is part of the museum’s special The Joy of Eid programme, which will run from 27 to 31 May. The five-day event celebrates Eid through storytelling, hospitality, music, poetry, and craftsmanship, offering visitors immersive cultural experiences across the museum’s public spaces.
Speaking about the initiative, Nassra Al Buainain, Director of Learning & Public Engagement at Zayed National Museum, highlighted the cultural importance of poetry in the UAE’s identity and heritage.
She said that Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan saw poetry as an essential part of leadership, culture, and national identity. She added that bringing people together to share their reflections through poetry within the museum space reflects his legacy and the enduring poetic spirit of the UAE.
