Huelva, February 26, 2026 – Slovenia’s premier trade fair and congress venue, the Ljubljana Exhibition & Convention Centre, has installed the country’s largest fixed indoor LED screen in its iconic Marmorna Hall. Measuring 8.40 × 4.72 metres and covering 40 m², the new screen replaces the previous projection-based system, offering enhanced brightness, precise colour accuracy, and reliable performance under natural daylight.
Powered by Alfalite’s UHD Finepix MATIX 1.8 AlfaCOB solution, the installation comprises 196 cabinets with a 1.8 mm pixel pitch. This ensures exceptional image clarity and consistent performance, crucial for the centre’s extensive calendar of international events.
The Ljubljana Exhibition & Convention Centre hosts approximately 250 events each year, welcoming up to 500,000 visitors. High-profile gatherings include international congresses and events such as the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. According to Iztok Bricl, CEO of the Centre, “We organise large congresses with 1,300 to 2,000 participants. The quality of the LED screen and its straightforward maintenance were decisive factors for us. A European partner guarantees performance and immediate technical support.”
The project was executed in partnership with the Austrian integrator WALLERIE, part of LANNER Media, with installation completed in just two days by Alfalite’s technical team under Sebastián Cabrera, CTO of Alfalite. The quick deployment minimized disruption to the venue’s ongoing schedule.
European manufacturing was a key requirement for the client. Sebastián Cabrera highlighted, “Our MATIX AlfaCOB technology provides long-term reliability, high thermal performance, and simplified servicing, essential for permanent installations operating year-round. This installation reflects the trend of replacing traditional projection systems with high-performance LED solutions.”
Sebastian Lanner, Managing Director of WALLERIE, added, “For an international congress centre, fast support and operational security are crucial. Combining European-manufactured LED modules with regional technical presence ensures long-term stability.”
The LED wall includes redundant signal control for uninterrupted operation during live events, and its fine 1.8 mm pixel pitch allows detailed content display—critical for medical and data-driven presentations.
Cabrera concluded, “This project demonstrates how European collaboration delivers technical excellence. It’s not just a large screen installation; it’s a future-proof visual infrastructure for one of the region’s leading congress venues.”
