A sudden disruption hit Microsoft 365 services on Wednesday, leaving thousands of users unable to access their cloud-based tools and Office.com. The outage affected users globally, with many taking to social media to report difficulties in logging into Microsoft Teams, Outlook, and other Office 365 platforms.
The problem began early in the day, when users noticed connectivity errors and slow loading times across Microsoft’s online suite. Downdetector, a site that tracks online outages, recorded a sharp spike in complaints from multiple countries, suggesting the issue was widespread.
Many businesses and professionals who rely on Microsoft 365 for their daily operations faced delays and interruptions in workflow. Several users reported being stuck on loading screens, while others experienced timeouts when trying to open documents stored in OneDrive.
Microsoft acknowledged the issue shortly after reports started pouring in, confirming they were investigating what caused the disruption. Although the company did not immediately share the reason for the downtime, engineers were said to be working to restore normal service as quickly as possible.
By late Wednesday, some users reported partial restoration, but others continued to face intermittent problems. Such large-scale outages serve as a reminder of the growing dependence on cloud-based productivity tools and how even brief interruptions can impact millions of users worldwide.
