Russia has successfully launched its Progress MS-34 cargo spacecraft to the International Space Station (ISS), carrying more than 2.5 tonnes of essential supplies.
According to Russia’s space agency Roscosmos, the spacecraft lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome and is now on its way to the ISS.
The cargo includes 1,348 kg of dry supplies in the pressurized module. This consists of 483 kg of food, 333 kg of sanitary and hygiene items, 311 kg of equipment for upgrades and repairs, 146 kg of personal protection gear, and 75 kg of medical and scientific materials.
In the refueling section, the spacecraft is carrying 700 kg of propellant, 420 kg of water, and 50 kg of oxygen.
One of the most important items onboard is the Orlan-MKS suit No. 8, which will be used for spacewalks from the Russian segment of the station.
The Progress MS-34 is scheduled to dock with the Zvezda module of the ISS on April 28 at around 12:01 a.m. GMT.
