Former Bollywood actress Mamta Kulkarni, known for her iconic roles in movies like Karan Arjun, has recently taken sannyas at the Mahakumbh. Despite embracing a spiritual life, her past remains filled with controversies. From acting in bold scenes to alleged involvement in drug cases and rumored links to underworld figures like Dawood Ibrahim, Mamta Kulkarni has faced her share of ups and downs.
During a candid conversation on the popular show Aap Ki Adalat, Mamta shared an unusual incident that happened during a four-day advertisement shoot. The team used to gather at night for meals, where only non-vegetarian food was served. Mamta said she struggled to chew the meat as it tasted strange and was difficult to eat. Frustrated by the poor quality, she complained to Mr. Bajaj, a key member of the production team.
Mamta recalled being shocked when Mr. Bajaj casually informed her that the dish was deer meat. She immediately expressed her discomfort, saying, "People eat chicken or mutton — who eats deer meat?" Mamta emphasized that she politely requested Mr. Bajaj to label the food properly in the future so such confusion wouldn't happen again.
It was then that Ameesha Patel, a relatively new actress at the time, overheard the conversation. According to Mamta, Ameesha remarked, saying, "Oh my God! You celebrities are so pricey! You're making a controversy over deer meat!"
Mamta admitted that she found the comment unnecessary but chose not to respond directly. However, she did wonder why Ameesha interfered in the matter.
During the interview, Rajat Sharma, the host, questioned Mamta about rumors that she had allegedly said to Ameesha, "Teri aukaat kya hai? My fee is ₹15 lakh, and yours is just ₹1 lakh." Mamta strongly denied making such a statement herself.
She clarified that it was her secretary who had made the comment, not her. Mamta insisted that it was unfair to judge the situation without knowing the entire story but confirmed that the dispute indeed took place.
Despite these past controversies, Mamta Kulkarni seems focused on her spiritual journey now, distancing herself from the glitz and scandals of Bollywood.
