S. Jaishankar, along with Heads of Mission, their spouses, and diplomats from 60 countries, visited the Sarnath archaeological site and Kaziranga National Park in Assam. They went there before the Advantage Assam summit in Guwahati, which starts on February 25.

The group explored the unique culture and wildlife of the region. The Ministry of External Affairs shared a post on X, saying the diplomats were able to visit the famous Sarnath site and the beautiful Kaziranga Park with help from S. Jaishankar.

They also enjoyed an Elephant Safari in Kaziranga National Park. This visit was part of efforts to promote Assam’s tourism. S. Jaishankar was happy to see the number of tourists visiting Assam grow. He said, "We are here for the Advantage Assam summit, and after this, we will head to Guwahati. We want to make Assam and the Northeast better known to the world. More tourists, more interest from other countries, and more investors will help Assam grow. It's a great start to the day."

S. Jaishankar also commented that over three lakh tourists had already visited Kaziranga, and this is a good sign for tourism in the area. He said, "The Prime Minister tells us to visit every state because we have so much to offer in both nature and culture."

S. Jaishankar posted on X saying, "An early morning safari at Kaziranga with Ambassadors. Assam's wildlife and nature are truly amazing. Next stop, Advantage Assam 2.0."

A delegate from Timor-Leste said he was proud to visit Kaziranga and see wild animals like elephants, rhinos, and tigers. He admired how these animals live together peacefully despite being aggressive. He believes Assam has a lot to offer the world with its natural beauty.

Another delegate thanked the Ministry of External Affairs and the Assam government for the memorable experience. He said, "Even though we live in New Delhi, this visit to Assam has been unforgettable. It’s wonderful to see the beauty of this state."

The second edition of Advantage Assam will begin on February 25 in Guwahati at the Khanapara Veterinary College field. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will open the summit, which will have Union Ministers, business leaders, and diplomats from many countries.

On February 24 evening, PM Modi will also watch a grand Jhumoir performance at Sarusajai Stadium, where over 8,600 artists from 800 tea gardens will perform the traditional Jhumoir dance.
