Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started a new campaign to fight obesity and tell people to eat less oil. On Monday, he chose ten famous people to help spread this message. This happened a day after he spoke about obesity in his radio program. He asked people to use less oil in food and tell others to do the same.
The ten people he picked are from different fields. They include former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, businessman Anand Mahindra, and actor Mohanlal. Others on the list are singer and actor Nirahua, Olympic shooter Manu Bhaker, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu, Infosys co-founder Nandan Nilekani, actor R Madhavan, singer Shreya Ghoshal, and Member of Parliament Sudha Murty.
PM Modi shared this news on social media. He said these people will help in making more people aware of obesity. He also asked them to choose ten more people each, so that more and more people know about this campaign.
In his speech, PM Modi said that obesity is growing in India. He told people to use less oil in their food and also to challenge ten others to do the same. He said that small changes in eating habits can make a big difference in health.
The government wants to make this campaign strong by picking famous people. These people have many followers, so they can inspire others to eat healthier.
This campaign is part of the government's effort to keep people healthy. By eating less oil and making better food choices, people can avoid health problems and live a better life.
